Actress files complaint vs cop-aide for stealing her bike
Actress Rosanna Roces reported to the police on Friday the theft of her motorcycle allegedly committed by a police officer who had been serving as her bodyguard. Roces (Jennifer Adriano in real life), 39, told the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (HPG) that her fire-orange Yamaha F2-16, a gift to her son, was taken by PO1 Franz Robert Ramirez. “I gave him several days to return it, but instead I got threats of blackmail to be used against me,” she said in a complaint sheet she submitted to HPG director Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina. Roces told reporters that Ramirez had been acting as her personal bodyguard who often went on errands using the motorcycle. “But he started making false claims that I had already given it to him,” Roces said. Espina said they were verifying Ramirez’s status, although Roces said Ramirez had been dismissed from the service. DJ Yap
Jeepney driver’s fatal embrace
A DRUNK jeepney driver was stabbed dead after he allegedly embraced another man’s wife in their neighborhood on Thursday night in Quezon City. The victim, Benito Diaz, 51, died in front of the suspect’s house in Barangay San Roque from multiple stab wounds. Insp. Elmer Monsalve, chief of the Quezon City Police District homicide unit, identified the suspect as Lito Dinglasa, 28, of the same barangay. A friend of the victim, Isidro Ferrer, told police that he was at home on Thursday at around 6 p.m. when the suspect’s wife, Bona, arrived and asked for help to pacify her husband who was then involved in a fight with the victim. But upon arriving at Dinglasa’s house, Ferrer said he found Diaz bloodied and sprawled on the ground. He said Dinglasa was nowhere to be found. According to neighbors, the victim arrived drunk at Dinglasa’s home and allegedly embraced Bona, which angered the suspect. Police said they have yet to talk to Bona about the incident. Julie M.
