THE TOP seeds – Goldberry, Insular Square, RDAK and Cebu Landmasters – wasted no time in getting past their respective opponents in the quarterfinals to barge into the semis round of the 2013 Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) last Sunday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts in Canduman, Mandaue City.

The Goldberry Suites defeated the San Jose Bakeshop, 82-50, Insular Square defeated Alberto’s Pizza, 57-46, the defending champions Cebu Landmasters ousted Gaisano Capital, 63-56, and RDAK Transporters leaned on a fast start to rout the Milco Fresh Eggs, 84-54.

The semifinal round is expected to be a fierce affair with the Goldberry Suites facing off against the Cebu Landmasters in a rematch of last year’s finals while Insular Square battles the RDAK Transporters. The two semifinal match-ups will be disputed in a best-of-three series.
