Talk ‘N Text arrests two-game skid

THE TALK ‘N TEXT Tropang Texters checked a two-game slide by holding off Globalport Batang Pier, 102-95, last night in the 38th PBA Governors’ Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Batang Pier launched a massive rally in the last two minutes, nearly wiping out a 14-point fourth quarter deficit when the Texters committed a series of errors.

The Batang Pier threatened at 95-100 after Gary David dropped a jumper with 40 seconds left.

With time winding down, Jayson Castro came with a crucial play that saw him collaring an offensive rebound off a miss by import Tony Mitchell.

Castro then made free throws as the Texters took a seven-point edge, 102-95 with only 15 seconds left.

With the win, the Texters tied their victim’s slate at 2-2 (win-loss). Talk ‘N Text and Globalport are now tied with the Meralco Bolts for the fourth to sixth spots.

Mitchell top scored for the Texters with 35 points, while Larry Fonacier added 19 markers.

Castro finished with 12 points, while Ranidel de Ocampo had 11.
