Traffic to be rerouted for Alay Lakad

TRAFFIC in Cebu City will be rerouted beginning at 5 a.m. today to give way to the holding of the Alay Lakad.

In an advisory, the Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) said a portion of the  Imus/New road from Sikatuna St. up to Gen. Maxilom Ave. will be closed to traffic while the following will be totally be shut down to traffic: M.J. Cuenco Ave. up to Andres Soriano Ave.; Gen. Maxilom Extension up to Kaohsiung St. and from Andres Soriano Ave. up to Serging Osmeña Blvd. Citom said passenger jeepneys going to Ayala with route numbers 62B and 65B must go through D. Jakosalem St. and turn right to Sikatuna St., turn left to Gen. Echavez St., proceed to Gorordo Ave., turn right to Cardinal Rosales Avenue, turn left to Luzon Avenue and then to their usual route and point of origin.

Meanwhile, 13C jeepneys going to Ayala passing through P. Del Rosario St. should turn left to D. Jakosalem Street turn right to Sikatuna Street turn left to Gen. Echavez St. to Gorordo Ave., turn right to Cardinal Rosales Ave. en route to their destination.

Jeepneys bound for Mabolo and Mandaue City from Carbon area must pass through M.J. Cuenco Ave., turn right T. Padilla St. turn left Benedicto St. proceed to J.C. de Veyra St. turn left to Juan Luna Ave.  to their usual route and to their point of origin.

Jeepneys coming from the north bus terminal and SM area going to downtown must take F. Batiller St. turn right to Serging Osmeña Blvd. to their usual route and point of destination.

Passenger jeepneys with route numbers 03Q, 04L and 06H going to and from Ayala along Juan Luna Ave. to and from SM. 06H and 04L must make a U-turn along J.C. De Veyra St. then turn left to Juan Luna Ave. to their usual route and point of origin. /Correspondent Jose Santino S. Bunachita
