MANILA, Philippines – Janet Lim Napoles will be detained in the Makati City Jail.

Makati RTC Branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda issued the commitment order for Napoles Thursday afternoon after the police returned the warrant of arrest and certificate of the businesswoman’s detention to the court.

The procedure allowed the court to assume jurisdiction over Napoles.

Napoles surrendered to President Benigno Aquino III in Malacañang on Wednesday night, reportedly for fear of her life.

Senior Supt. Roberto Fajardo, who led the CIDG team that went to the Makati RTC, said Napoles was currently detained at Camp Crame but could not say where exactly for security reasons.

Meanwhile, the court sheriff was on his way to Camp Crame to deliver Napoles commitment order.
