THE Mandaue City government will start today its week-long activities at the City Hall grounds and sports complex in celebration of its 44th charter day anniversary celebration on Friday, Aug. 31.
Highlighting the activities is the ceremonial switch-on of the new modern traffic lights installed in the city’s nine major intersections at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Bantay Mandaue Command Center.
Activities include the following:
AUGUST 27
– voc-tech skills competition in balloon designing and delicacies (3 categories) at the Heritage Plaza at 8 a.m.
– oratorical and trivia contests at JCentre Mall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
– dance, singing and guitar duet contests at the Heritage Plaza at 7 p.m.
AUGUST 28
– signing of twinning agreement with Gwangju City, South Korea at the City Hall session hall at 3 p.m.
– cultural presentation titled “Mandaue: Kagahapon ug Karon” at the Heritage Plaza at 8 p.m.
AUGUST 29
– food festival and trade fair at the Heritage Plaza from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.
– cultural show by Mandaue School for the Arts at 8 p.m.
AUGUST 30
– food festival and trade fair, ceremonial switch on of traffic lights at 10 a.m.
– signing of deed of donation for the Hall of Justice expansion project at 1 p.m.
– foot parade from Prince Warehouse to the sports complex at 3 p.m.
– concelebrated Mass at 5 p.m.
– awards night at the sports complex at 7 p.m.
– bisrock band presentation at the Heritage Plaza at 8 p.m.
AUGUST 31
– food festival and trade fair at 8 a.m.
– acoustic band presentation at the Heritage plaza at 8 p.m.
The celebration revolves around the theme: “Mandaue: Cradle of Love, Prosperity and Opportunity.”
