Jette Calderon bags KT100 title anew, solidifies bid to recapture Karter of the Year plum
Ace karter Jette Calderon took his game to a whole new level when it mattered most as he won the Formula KT 100 title during the 4th leg of the 2013 Kartzone Superkart Series last Sunday at the Kartzone Race Track in barangay Panagdait.
The win was a hard earned one for the former many-time Karter of the Year winner.
Prior to the final heat, he had been struggling to find his groove, typified by his horrendous last place showing during the qualifying time trial.
But Calderon showed that when it comes to the big stage, nobody else is better as he took the checkered flag in the 25-lap final heat with a time of 11 minutes and 49.202 seconds, a full three seconds ahead of second placer Vince Rojo.
JT Gullas finished third place while Joseph Rojo and Sean Velasco rounded out the top five.
The victory also put Calderon on solid footing in his bid to recapture the Karter of the Year award this season, after losing it to rival Juan Antonio “Tonyo” Carcel last year.
