A lone gunman shot dead late Saturday afternoon a 74-year-old widow and wounded her son inside their automobile parts store in Quezon City.

The shooter fled as quickly as he appeared after shooting Rosalia Tan and wounding her 48-year-old-son Winston, both of Kabignayan Street corner Banawe Avenue in Barangay Tatalon.

Senior Police Officer 1 Cristituto Zaldarriaga of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said both the elderly Tan and the son were hit once in their jaws. While Rosalia was killed instantly, Winston was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

He added that they had yet to establish whether the attack on the elderly woman and her son was related to last year’s incident.
