Strong 6.1 magnitude quake rocks Mexico

MEXICO CITY — A strong 6.1 magnitude earthquake shook Mexico Wednesday from its epicenter in the western state of Guerrero, authorities said.

The National Seismology Center said the quake struck at 1238 GMT (7:38 am local time) near the town of San Marcos.
