Traffic enforcer shot dead in Batangas
MANILA, Philippines—A traffic enforcer was shot dead in Batangas City Wednesday, police said.
Superintendent Nicolas Torre, Batangas police spokesman said Edison Torres, a traffic enforcer, was standing in front of the Basilica Church along M. H. del Pilar Street in Batangas City at 12 noon when he was shot by a lone gunman onboard a motorcycle. He was killed instantly, police said.
The suspect, described to have been wearing a helmet, black jacket and blue pants, fled right after the incident, said Torre.
Batangas City police said that they have yet to determine the motive behind the killing and that an investigation on the incident was ongoing.
