Van catches fire in Mandaluyong

MANILA, Philippines—A van caught fire in Mandaluyong on Wednesday, an officer from the Metro Manila Development Authority Metrobase said.

Arman Malubay said a Toyota Hi Ace with plate number UCG 669 travelling along Pioneer Boni Tunnel eastbound lane caught fire at 1:55 p.m.  It caused heavy traffic in the area.

Members of the Mandaluyong Fire Station responded to the incident, said Malubay. The blaze was put out at 2:15 p.m.

No one was reported injured, he said.

As of 2:45 p.m., traffic was already light in the area.
