Junkers bag last finals berth in Forty’s

THE Boyte Junkers of Boyte Jakosalem crushed Bosshen led by Henry “El Presidente” Chua, 79-69 to claim the last championship slot in the Lucky Forty’s Sports Club basketball tournament at the Visayan Glass gym in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Boyte Junkers led 18-13 in the first quarter behind skipper Dodong Elizalde and Johnroy Labra and maintained its single-digit advantage at the bend, 36-28.

The Junkers posted their biggest lead in the third with a commanding 13-point edge, 59-46, before settling with the 10-point victory in the fourth.

The Boyte Junkers and the powerhouse Aulga Team of Raul Sollano will meet in a winner-take-all championship showdown on Saturday (Aug. 24) at 3:30 p.m.

FEATURED STORIES

Bong Rama spearheaded the Junkers victory with 12 points with huge contributions from Johnroy Labra who had 11 points and Dodong Elizalde who added 10 markers.

Boy Jacaban paced Bosshen with a game-high 15 points with Dong Gabonada and Reye Escuyos adding a combined 22 markers in a losing cause.
