Senior Supt. Noel Gillamac assumed the top post of the Cebu Provincial Police Office yesterday, replacing Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador.
Gillamac said that his priorities would include eradication of illegal drugs, put and end to the abuse of children and women.
Gillamac was the chief of the Regional Personnel and Human Resource and Development Division of the Police Regional Office 7.
Gillamac also promised to continue what Comendador has started and added that he would give special attention to the kidnap-murder of 6-year-old Ellah Joy Pique two years ago. The prosecution team of the Pique case has been presenting findings of the police investigation linking suspect Bella Ruby Santos who is out on bail. “What Col. Comendador had started, we will continue that, especially the filing of cases. We will continue to monitor the Ellah Joy case,” Gillamac told reporters.
During the turn-over command yesterday, one of the special guests was Renante Pique, Ellah Joy’s father.
During Comendador’s term, crimes in the province was reduced by 30 percent.
