27 hurt as bus slams into MRT post in Cubao

MANILA, Philippines – At least 27 persons were injured when a passenger bus hit the wall of the Metro Rail Transit station in EDSA-Cubao, Quezon City early Tuesday,  the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

MMDA-Metrobase said the incident, which involved a Unicab Transport Bus and a Cem Transport bus, was reported to them around 5:35 a.m.

The injured passengers were rushed to East Avenue Medical Center.

“Nagkagitgitan lang itong dalawa,” Police Officer 1 Victorio Villarisco of Quezon City Traffic-Sector 4 said, causing the CEM bus driven by Rex Taclar to hit the MRT post.

He said the Unicab bus was just slightly damaged.
