Former Marikina Representative Romeo Candazo
MANILA, Philippines–Former Marikina Representative Romeo “Ome” Candazo died of heart failure Monday. He was 61.
Candazo, born on June 18, 1952, served as Marikina congressman from 1992 to 2001. He obtained his History degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 1975 and finished law from the same university in 1986. He passed the bar in 1987.
Before his election as Marikina representative, he was vice consul at the Department of Foreign Affairs from 1990 to 1992, director for public affairs at the Department of Agrarian Reform (1989), consultant at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (1988) and professor at Miriam (then known as Maryknoll) College from 1975 to 1986.
