Felta: No dealing with fake NGOs
MANILA, Philippines—Felta Multi-Media Inc. has denied dealing with two fake nongovernmental organizations, Aaron Foundation Philippines Inc. and Farmerbusiness Development Corp., or with their implementing agencies Technology Resources Center (TRC) on dubious projects worth P540.15 million.
In a statement, Mylene Abiva of Felta Multi-Media said: “Felta Multi-Media has not in any way transacted with Aaron Foundation as mentioned in the news article that the two NGOs have the same supplier. We found no such statement in the special report of the COA.”
Abiva also claimed that COA investigators did not contact them on these transactions with the NGOs.
But the COA special audit report on the pork barrel scam from 2007 and 2009, finalized over the last four years, was unequivocal on Felta Multi-Media’s participation in the transactions of the two fake NGOs that were operating outside of the fake NGO network of fugitive Janet Lim-Napoles.
Based on the review report of Aaron Foundation, the COA said: “Of the reported procurement of around P291.75 million (with TRC), only procurement from Felta Multi-Media Inc. amounting to P15.75 million was documented.”—Gil C. Cabacungan
