MANILA, Philippines—Today, May 4, is the 94th birth anniversary of the late National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin. Joaquin wrote more than two dozen books, including “A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino,” “The Woman Who Had Two Navels” and several other plays and poems.
