USPF makes debut vs skidding CIT-U today

Games today (Cebu Coliseum)

5 p.m. – CEC vs. USC (Juniors)

6:30 p.m. – USPF vs. CIT-U (Seniors)

THE Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats try to break out of their two-game slump today when they battle the debuting University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers in the 2013 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) men’s basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

But before that, the Cebu Eastern College Dragons aim for the solo lead in the juniors division when they face off against the University of San Carlos Baby Warriors of head coach Britt Reroma. CEC, the 2010 champions, showed their readiness to make their way back to elite status after they thumped the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers, 85-65, for their third win in a row.

They are currently tied for first place with the defending champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis with identical 3-0 (win-loss) records.

Meanwhile, after drawing a tough schedule that saw them face off against the reigning champions Southwestern University and then, the runners-up, University of the Visayas, in their first two games, CIT-U hopes to barge into the win column against the Panthers. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
