FEATURED STORIES

Napoles: Shoprula. [This refers to Napoles’ alleged Indonesian partner in coal trading.–Ed.]

Joey Nolasco/Managing Editor: Zafrula?

Minerva Generalao/Research Head: How do you spell?

Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc/Editor in Chief: He was not identified. Why was that? Can you spell it?

Nolasco: Shop as in shopping…

Generalao: The name of the company, ma’am.

Kasi pagdating dun ma-pre-preempt kasi, mauunahan.

Generalao: Who’s going there?

Napoles: Channel 2.

Generalao: Channel 2 lang?

Napoles: Their request.

Generalao: Exclusive?

Napoles: No, no. Pero kung puwede daw ata mauna sila.

Magsanoc: What’s the name of the company?

Napoles: Pagdating na lang dun, tita. Kasi ’pag sinabi…

Generalao: Exclusive sa Channel 2.

Napoles: They want to go…

Magsanoc: Why is it exclusive to 2?

Napoles: I don’t know.

Magsanoc: Even your interview was exclusive to 2 first.

Napoles: Ay, hindi po! Nakausap ako ni ano… who’s my neighbor.

Magsanoc: Unang-una ang 2.

Napoles: No, no, tita. Nauna po si Vicky Morales.

Magsanoc: 7? I didn’t see that.

Napoles: 2, tapos Vicky Morales agad.

Magsanoc: We just want to know the truth.

Napoles: ’Pag may lawyer.

Fe Zamora/Social Media Editor: Can I ask one question lang? Ano exactly ang business ng JLN Corp.?

Napoles: Dito po, trading.

Zamora: Trading in what?

Zamora: You don’t know Cheryl Jimenea?

Napoles: Hindi, kakilala namin, kaibigan namin. Kaya sumulat po kami two days ago sa SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) bakit ganun.

Zamora: Si Anthony Dequina is also an incorporator. You know him?

Zamora: He’s a congressman?

Napoles: Hindi na, noon, long, long time ago. So, puwede n’yo i-check ’yung projects niya.

Magsanoc: So you deny everything—

Winnie Monsod/Columnist: You are…

Magsanoc: Go ahead.

Monsod: So, you are saying categorically that you had nothing to do whatsoever with any PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund).

Magsanoc: That’s related to my question.

Monsod: That any PDAF activities were activities that were undertaken by Benhur Luy.

Napoles: Yes, ma’am. Opo. Benhur Luy and Merlina Suñas.

Magsanoc: And her boss. His boss.

Napoles: And her boss and [unintelligible].

Monsod: In connection with somebody. And his female boss, whom you refuse to name.

Randy David/Columnist: But you knew about these activities?

Napoles: Ah, no po. Nito na lang.  After na.

Magsanoc: After we brought it out.

Nolasco: ’Nung lumabas na sa Inquirer.

Napoles: Hindi, nung March, nung may letter, ’di ba, ’yung sa illegal detention, so nagtaka kami. So, pinuntahan namin ng tatay, nanay kasi ’di pa naman sila sa NBI (National Bureau of Investigation). Papaano nangyari? Somebody gave it to them daw. Sabi ko, ah. So, nalaman na.

Magsanoc: Excuse me, what was that na nakita n’yo?

Napoles: Tita, kasi ganito po. ’Yung brother ko from the States, dumating siya. Si Benhur nasa Magallanes, nagre-retreat—

Magsanoc: Is that Reynald (Lim)?

Napoles: Yes.

Magsanoc: So, and then?

Josefino Ramirez) nagdadasal and everything—dinetain kasi because of this PDAF.

Magsanoc: Which reminds me, why do you have a house full of priests headed by Monsignor Ramirez?

Napoles: Mommy ko lahat.

Magsanoc: But she died already.

Napoles: Pero sabi niya kasi, continue the activities of monsignor para tumulong sa poorest of the poor, para sa Divine Mercy.

Magsanoc: So you maintain this house in Magallanes.

Monsod: And you are saying that Benhur was not detained; he was attending a retreat.

Napoles: Yes, opo.

Monsod: And your priests in that house would…

Monsod: All the priests.

Napoles: Yes! Monsignor Ramirez [unintelligible] the one in Quiapo, Alagad ni Maria… the founder of, one of the founders of Alagad ni Maria, Fr. At every day…

Magsanoc: From December to March.

Magsanoc: Why did he go on retreat for three months?

Kung may isa kang boyfriend, why not? Pero kung sobra-sobrang daming mine-maintain… [unintelligible chorus of voices and laughter]. So ngayon, kahihiyan niya sa…

Magsanoc: Three months. Okay.

Monsod: You are saying that the priests have testified—

Napoles: Yes, opo.

Monsod: All the priests have testified—

Monsod: That he is in your—

Napoles: Oo. In house in Magallanes.

Nancy Carvajal/Reporter: I just want to clarify, lahat po ng affidavits….

Napoles: I will give you all the copies so you will know what is happening.

Matino bang utak ’yun?

Monsod: How did you get hold of his cell phone?

That time din kasi, dahil last day of the work, tumawag din yung taga-bangko na, “Ma’am, babayaran n’yo ba ’yung loan?”

Raul Pangalangan/Publisher: So voluntarily binigay niya.

Gil Cabacungan/Senior Reporter: Dun n’yo na-discover ’yung away operator?

Siyempre.

Carvajal: Kasi ho, iba ho ’yung sinasabi n’yo dun sa affidavit n’yo.

Napoles: Ano bang sinasabi ko?

Magsanoc: Anong kakaiba? What portions?

Carvajal: Well, that part also.

Magsanoc: About?

Napoles: Siyempre, ’pag sinabi mo sa abogado… kasi ganito ’yan…

Carvajal: Are you talking about the affidavit—

Napoles: Kakausapin ako ng abogado. Siyempre ang abogado mag-ta-type. Malay ko ba naman [unintelligible] sabihin ’to, sabihin ’to.

Pangalangan: Letty, our guest has asked— [Napoles is getting up to leave.–Ed)

Napoles: Thank you po.

Pangalangan: Maybe we would take just one more question.

So, naiba.

Cabacungan: How much are you worth?

Formoso: [Unintelligible] poorest of poor ang tinutulungan n’yo?

Napoles: Opo. Poorest of the poor, ’yung Jamaican.

Cabacungan: How much are you worth?

Napoles: Pardon? Net worth?

Cabacungan: To afford ’yung anak n’yo na andun, grabe.

Napoles: Saan?

Cabacungan: Sa [unintelligible].

Napoles: Alam mo, swerte-swerte kasi. Manalig ka sa Diyos. Alam mo, ganito ’yan. Halimbawa, may condominium opening diyan. Kung may pang-down ka, mag-down ka. ’Pag naging uso na siya, mahal na. Ganun lang ’yun. Alam mo kasi, Chinese kami eh, na-train kami maghanapbuhay. Hindi kami na-train ng nanay kong magnakaw. Alam mo, teka, Tita Letty…

Cabacungan: Can I quote you on that?

Magsanoc: Sa Basilan? Tungkol saan?

Napoles: Inquirer daw po. I don’t know.

Pangalangan: Si Juliet.

Napoles: Nasulat sa Facebook. Ano ba ’yun? [Laughs]

Nolasco: Dot net. Inquirer.net

[Laughs and claps]

Pangalangan: Our editor in chief will have the last question.

Magsanoc: I’m just saying that, there’s so much documentation. All these things that are being brought up against you are documented. So, where did it all come from; if you’re denying everything, where did this all come from?

Napoles: Kasi, tita, ’di ba magdadala sila ng document, siyempre bakit sila may document, bakit wala kaming dokumento?

Nolasco: Bakit?

Napoles: Kaya nga nagtataka, bakit kami wala, bakit sila meron?

Magsanoc: Saan galing yang mga ’yan?

Napoles: Siyempre, sa amo nila.

Magsanoc: Saan galing ang mga ’yan?

Napoles: Sa amo nila, wala lang dito.

Magsanoc: Sino nga ’yung amo?

Napoles: Eh…

[Laughs]

Magsanoc: Why you? Bakit ikaw ang aanuhin?

Napoles: ’Yan din ang question ni Louie. [Unintelligible] Oh my God! Pati mga driver ko kawawa.  Alam mo ’yung driver ko, tuwang-tuwa pa nanonood, “Walang hiyang Benhur ’to.”

[Stands up to leave.–Ed.]

Nolasco: Mga ilan? Mga P9 billion?

Pangalangan: Okay. Thank you, Ms. Napoles, for coming.

Magsanoc: Thank you for coming.
