/ 06:41 AM August 11, 2013

DR. HUMILITY Igaña, widow of the late Ramon Igaña Jr., is overwhelmed with the support given to her by the Cebu running community as more than a thousand runners registered for today’s R399: Live Your Dreams running event starting at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.

The running event is dedicated to Ramon Igaña Jr., who died of acute pulmonary embolism while participating in last year’s relay category of the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines.

“I did not expect it would reach a thousand,” said Humility.

The 12-kilometer category attracted 552 runners while 295 runners listed in the 6k race. The 3k, meanwhile, has 251 registrants.

FEATURED STORIES

Making the running event memorable is that the winners will receive specially-designed medals. The proceeds of this race will be used to sponsor a deserving less-fortunate triathlete.

The running event will be handled by veteran race director Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
