Black and Yellow rule Bulacao basketball

THE Reboy Mahilum-led Black crushed Yellow of Romeo “El Presidente” Batiola, 83-73, Thursday night in the 40-Above category, while the Ruben Abellanosa-led Yellow edged Black, 68-67, in the 46-Above class in the championship games of the 5th Bulacao Basketball Associaion (BBA), Cyber Forty-2013 basketball tournament at the Vista Grande covered court.

Black roared to an impressive 23-10 start and repulsed Yellow’s several comeback attempts to complete the 10-point win.

Allan Bioderos led Black with 19 while Jan-Jan Cambaya and Reboy Mahilum added 18 points apiece. Jun-Jun Abellana paced Yellow with 28 markers.

In the 46-Above game, Yellow leaned on the buzzer-beating jumpshot of Etit Bucao to nip Black, 68-67.

Bucao scattered a game-high 20 points for Yellow while Ruben Abellanosa added 15 markers. Joven Miting and Barry Bucao paced the losing Black with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Club president Romeo Batiola awarded the cash prizes and trophies to the top performing teams and individuals led by Reboy Mahilum, the 40-Above MVP; Etit Bucao the 46-Above MVP and Reynaldo Alicante – Cyber Forty Model of the Year 2013.
