MANILA, Philippines—Tropical depression “Labuyo” maintained its strength as it continued to move northwest Friday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
The tropical cyclone was last spotted 875 kilometers east of Bicol region with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
It was forecast to move northwest at 19 kph.
Calabarzon (Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Rizal and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), and Western and Central Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and coming from west to southwest over Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
