THE Santa Teresa of Avila Chess Tournament will kick off on Aug. 9, 10 and 15 at the Deep Blue Cafe in SM City Cebu.

The upcoming tournament is composed of 16 stages with a maximum of 18 players per stage. The top finisher in the five-round, Swiss system stage eliminations will advance to the finals.

The top wood pusher in every stage will receive P1,000 while the finals champion will take home P7,000. The second to 4th placers on the other hand, will take home P4,000; P2,000 P1,000, respectively.
