MANILA, Philippines – A bus from San Pedro, Laguna caught fire along the northbound lane of Edsa near Ayala Avenue in Makati City on Wednesday causing heavy traffic and diverting motorists.
The Cher bus with plate number TYF-984 which was bound for Navotas City was seen billowing smoke and fire on EDSA before noon.
Banjo Fetizanan of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metrobase said the fire was first reported at 11:12 a.m. and was declared out 20 minutes later.
Motorists taking the northbound lane of EDSA were diverted to Ayala Avenue and Buendia Avenue.
The fire caused the traffic to slow down from Ayala to Magallanes, Fetizanan.
