US and foreign diplomatic posts closures
WASHINGTON – The United States Sunday extended the closures of a number of embassies and consulates across the Muslim world and nearby nations through August 10 following credible threats from the Al-Qaeda terror network.
It added four outposts in sub-Saharan Africa to its original list of closures, but reopened several in Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Iraq and Mauritania.
Britain, Germany and France said they would close their embassies in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, on Sunday and Monday after Washington issued a worldwide travel alert warning of a possible attack.
