Ovanta Expo closes today
A PAINT that saves on energy by reflecting heat out of the building and cutting energy costs from air conditioning units is one of the new products and technologies to be displayed in the three-day venue for the OVANTA Expo or Outstanding Ventures and Technological Alternatives Expo.
The expo, which had its three-day run at Ayala Center Cebu last Aug. 18 to Aug. 20, is part of the month-long Mandaue Business Month activities.
The second-run of the exhibit at the Parkmall started on Aug. 20 and closes today, Aug. 22.
Ovanta comes from the Cebuano word “uban ta” which represents the underlying idea of the event to enjoin the different sectors of the community to take part in their drive for out-of-the-box innovations, said Wesley Go, head of the Ovanta committee.
“The exhibit aims to showcase alternative technologies geared towards efficiency in the workplace and even at home. We want to show to the Cebuanos what are the latest technologies that we have now that can help them save on operation costs, electricity and more,” Go said.
MBM 2011 overall chairman Stanley Go said this was the first time that the chamber held this kind of exhibit, which he hoped would continue to be held in the years to come.

Next year we hope to gather more and encourage participation even from our local investors with bright ideas,” Go said./REporter Aileen Garcia-Yap
