More than 300 blood bags were collected during the grand bloodletting held simultaneously at the Cebu City Sports Center and University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Campus (UCLM) last July 27.

This year’s activity drew more blood donors. Last year, the event only gathered almost 200 bags of blood.

The Grand Bloodletting 2013, with the theme “Every blood donation is a gift of life,” was conducted by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry through its health committee, in collaboration with the Department of Health Regional Blood Center, Philippine Red Cross Cebu Chapter and convening partners, in accordance with the National Blood Donor’s Month celebration.
