UV survives do-or-die game in BTC hoop

UNIVERSITY of the Visayas (UV) survived a thrilling do-or-die match against St. Alphonsus Catholic School (SACS)-B, 7-5, to earn a ticket to the 16-under playoff in the 3rd BTC Cup.

Shawn Vincent Opolentisima had five points while Mark Joseph  Basea sealed the win from the free throw line for UV.

UV finished the eliminations with a 5-1 (win-loss) record.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Christian Gospel School (PCGS)-B beat the Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion (CIC), 6-4, in the 14-under.
