Test results done by the PNP Crime Laboratory confirmed that the 1.3 kilo substance confiscated in barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City last Friday is methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

Chief Inspector Romeo Santander, chief of City Intelligence Branch (CIB) said the 1.3 kilo shabu haul could have saved 2,000 drug users and would certainly affect the supply of illegal drugs in the streets.

Police yesterday charged suspected drug pusher Roger Roxas with the violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) before the City Prosecutors Office.

Most of the crimes in the city, he added are drug-related and/or committed by those who are using illegal drugs.

Authorities scored big in the illegal crackdown last week. Aside from the 1.3 kilo haul, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) also confiscated 700 grams of shabu from Nigerian businessman James Cunta Okwudili Uyanneh and arrested alleged drug den operator Zenaida Ampalayo in barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
