Mortaflex retains lead in United Architects hoops
Mortaflex kept its hold of the lead in the standings as it edged Healthy Home, 89-85, in the United Architects Basketball Club First Conference last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.
The win put Mortaflex at the top of the standings with a 7-2 (win-loss) record while sending Healthy Home into a tie for second place with Fractalis, which defeated Cool Shades, 96-84, for identical 6-3 records.
Ferdinand Tiro once again carried the fight for the league leaders with 22 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block.
Jodl Dabon added 17 while Mito Parda chipped in 14 to help Mortaflex get closer to clinching one of the coveted top two slots and the twice-to-beat advantage that comes with it.
Meanwhile, Fractalis leaned on the monster performance of forward Vincent Sesbreno, who had 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
In the other game of the triple-header, Jay-R Decatoria led a fearsome stand by the Davies Clean Air quintet with 41 points, 21 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and three blocks as they beat Primeguard, 104-99.
