WBO WORLD bantamweight champion Paulus Ambunda of Namibia will be arriving early for his title defense against Tomoki Kameda of Japan on Aug. 1 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Ambunda is scheduled to arrive in Cebu tonight.
Ambunda (20W-0L, 10 KOs) and Kameda (27W-0L, 18 KOs) will engage in a historic bout here in Cebu as this will be the first time that two unbeaten foreign boxers will be fighting in the main event here in Cebu City known as the boxing capital of the Philippines.
This will also be the first time that the 32-year-old Ambunda will fight as a pro outside of Namibia. He will be defending his title for the first time.
He beat Pungluang Sor Singyu of Thailand by unanimous decision for the title last March in Windhoek, Namibia. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre, Jr.
