A SUSPECTED drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation in barangay Labangon, Cebu City Friday afternoon.


Packs of suspected drugs worth P40,000 were seized during the arrest of Mlejhon Sarajena, 21.

Operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force  arrested Sarajena after he allegedly sold a pack of shabu worth P200 to a poseur-buyer.


In an interview, Sarajena admitted his involvement in the illegal drug trade.

“Wa man jud lain trabaho (I couldn’t find any other job),” said Sarajena.

Prior to the Labangon arrest, Cebu City police also arrested another man in a buy-bust operation in barangay Sawang Calero where P7.8 million worth of suspected drugs were seized.

A woman was also arrested in barangay Mambaling in a separate raid conducted by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation in barangay Mambaling also last Friday./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON


A WOMAN and her 16-year-old daughter were robbed at gunpoint outside their house in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

Thelma Ouano, 53, said she lost P15,000 cash and a cellphone worth P5,000 to the robbers. Ouano’s daughter lost P3,000 cash and a cellphone worth P10,000.


Ouano said she and her daughter were talking near the gate of their house around 4 a.m. yesterday when two motorcycles each with two men aboard arrived.

Ouano said the four men pointed guns at them and warned them not to shout or they would be shot. The four men then took their wallets and sped off.

She was unable to identify the culprits since they were wearing helmets. The woman also failed to see the motorcycles’ plate numbers since the area was still dark./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
