FEATURED STORIES

THE FAR Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws gun for their fifth straight win when they take on the dangerous National University (NU) Bulldogs in the 76th UAAP men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Not even a spirited effort by the La Salle Green Archers could stop the Tams from capturing their fourth straight win the last time out as the latter overcame a late 13-point deficit to win in overtime, 83-79.

Terrence Romeo, the league’s leading scorer, continued his stellar showing with 25 points.

However, FEU’s unblemished record is expected to be challenged by the Bobby Ray Parks-led NU.

The Bulldogs shares second place with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers with identical 3-1 (win-loss) records.

Parks, in spite shooting just 2-of-12 from the field, managed to log 18 points in a 74-60 win over the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons last weekend.

Meanwhile, the five-time reigning champions Ateneo Blue Eagles hope to build on their 72-59 win over Adamson last Sunday—their first in this tournament—when they face off against the inconsistent University of the East (UE) Red Warriors.

Both UE and Ateneo are tied for second-worst in the UAAP with identical 1-3 cards. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
