Rama wants Oliva back at City Hall
CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama already submitted to the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) last week a list of three names for his choice of a new city treasurer.
Appearing on his list were former city treasurer Ofelia Oliva, Mandaue City treasurer Regal Oliva and Acting Cebu City Accountant Diwa Cuevas.
Acting City Treasurer Emma Villarete’s appointment will lapse tomorrow.
Rama is hopeful that the BLGF will respect his choices.
But Ofelia Oliva, who is now the city’s financial adviser, earlier said that her reassignment to Cebu City was already remote. She said Cuevas was qualified for the position.
Her son, Regal, is also in Manila reviewing for the bar exams scheduled in October.

“I want to be clarified if that’s possible because I’m not under BLGF,” Cuevas said.
