Colombian boxer Jorle Estrada vows to knock out Pinoy Merlito Sabillo in PP XXI

Pasay City—World no. 6 minimumweight contender Jorle Estrada of Colombia is positive he can knock out WBO world minimumweight champion Merlito “The Tiger” Sabillo of the Philippines in tomorrow’s main event of the Pinoy Pride XXI dubbed “When Worlds Collide” at the luxurious Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City.
“I want to bring home the title and defeat him (Sabillo) in seven rounds,” said Estrada (17-6, 6 KOs) in yesterday’s final press conference at the Solaire Resort and Casino’s grand ball room.
Though Estrada has a very low knockout percentage rate of 26.09 according to boxrec.com, the Colombian said he has trained hard for this fight and is optimistic he can pull off the KO win against the undefeated Sabillo, who has 22 wins with 11 knockouts.
Sabillo won the vacant WBO world  minimumweight title against another Colombian in Luis dela Rosa last March.
Estrada said he will avenge Dela Rosa’s loss to Sabillo.
Sabillo, meanwhile, said he is honored to defend his title in front of his fellow Filipinos. He said he will make this as his source of motivation.
“Mayroong pressure at kaba pero pag pinawisan ka na sa loob,  mawawala na lahat iyon lalo na kapag lumalaban ka para sa ating bansa,” said Sabillo.
Sabillo’s trainer Edito Villamor said his ward has become an effective counter puncher after  two months of training in Cebu.  ALA Boxing Promotions CEO Michael Aldeguer believes Sabillo’s great fighting spirit will be the key to victory.
“I always believed in Sabillo’s talent.”
