Zamboanga del Norte cops hunt 2 teenagers accused of raping mute woman
MANILA, Philippines—Authorities are on the lookout for two teenagers who allegedly raped a mute woman in Zamboanga del Norte, police said Monday.
In a belated report, Police Officer 2 Florenza Compis Espinosa said the incident took place in the house of the victim around 7 p.m. Friday.
Espinosa said the father of the victim caught a 16-year-old suspect in the act of “sexually abusing” his daughter inside the toilet.
However, further investigation revealed that prior to the incident, the victim has been sexually abused a number of times by three other teenagers.
Two of the accused surrendered to the village councilor and have been turned over to the municipal social welfare office for proper disposition, while the two others remain at large.
