WOMAN STABS EX-BF’S LOVER

JEALOUSY drove a woman to stab another woman in barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.

Necquilen Maputol, 32, a native of Surigao del Sur but has been living in Pajac, was arrested by police shortly after she attacked Mary Rose Bustillo, a 33-year-old secretary of a real state company.

Police said Bustillo was walking home Tuesday night when Maputol stabbed her repeatedly using a bladed weapon.

Bustillo sustained stab wounds in the shoulder, neck and head.

Maputol fled after the attack while Bustillo sought help from her relatives, who brought her to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital.

Police later arrested Maputol in her home.

SPO1 Allan Pantaleon, homicide investigator of the Lapu-Lapu City police, said Maputol admitted that she was upset at the victim who is now living with the suspect’s previous live-in partner.

CEBU POLICE TO GET NEW FIREARMS

THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) is set to receive 1,800 new firearms.

Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, chief of PRO-7, yesterday went to Camp Crame to receive the new guns.

The recipient of the new firearms are those who are well-trained and passed the gun proficiency training.

Senior Supt. Mariano Natu-el Jr., chief of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), admits there are still several policemen who don’t own government-issued firearms.

Garbo said of the 1,800 firearms, 286 will go to the 1,000-strong CCPO.

The 1,800 new firearms are part of the 74,879 Glock firearms that the government plans to distribute to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
