Julie Mimes of Pagasa said that there were no cloud formations that could turn into thunderstorms in the next few hours although an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) continued to affect Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
But a thunderstorm advisory was issued in Misamis Oriental (El Salvador, San Simon, Talisayan, Kinogitan, Medina, Gingoog, Sugbongcogon, Balingoan, Claveria, Magsaysay), Lanao Del Norte (Abuno, Kauswagan, Linamon, Matungao, Poona Piagapo, Bacolod), Lanao Del Sur (Kapai, Tagoloan, Molundo, Poon-a-bayabao, Tamparan), Misamis Occidental (Aloran, Panaon, Sinacaban), Agusan Del Norte (Carmen), Agusan Del Sur (San Luis, La Paz, San Francisco, Prosperidad, Bayugan, Rosario, Ezperanza, Talacogon, Bunawan, Veruela, Loreto), Bukidnon (Malitbog, Libona, Baungon), Surigao Del Norte (Malimono, Mainit), Zamboanga Del Norte (Dipolog City), Zamboanga City, Maguindanao (Upi).
Residents in these areas are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods. Frances Mangosing
