5 neophyte senators briefed on Senate legislative work

MANILA, Philippines – Five neophyte senators attended their orientation held at the Senate on Wednesday.

The five were Senators Cynthia Villar, Juan Edgardo “Sonny’ Angara, Grace Poe-Llamanzares, JV Ejercito and Nancy Binay.

The orientation is given to first-time senators preparing them on legislative proceedings, Senate protocol and other guidelines and rules in the chamber.

Villar is the wife of outgoing Senator Manny Villar, Angara is the son of outgoing Senator Edgardo Angara while  Ejercito is  the half—brother of Acting Senate President Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada.

Binay and Poe-Llamanzares, on the other hand, are daughters of Vice President Jejomar Binay and the late   Fernando Poe Jr., respectively.

Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino, another newly elected member of the Senate, had his orientation last  week.

“He requested for an early schedule,” said Aquino’s  staff   member in a text message.
