Dead man found in Carcar river

The decomposing body of a 46-year-old man was found floating in a river in barangay Valencia, Carcar City, southern Cebu.

The fatality was identified as Nelso Racho.

Racho bore a gunshot wound in the head and his feet were bound by a rope when he was found by two children around 2 p.m. Monday.

Police said it was the victim’s wife who identified the body.

The wife told police that her husband left home to gather some coconuts last Friday and has failed to return home since then.

The man may have been killed in a mountainous barangay and thrown into the river, SPO1 Jorame Tanudtanud, investigator of the Carcar police station, said./Correspondent Joy Cherry S. Quito
