Marguerite Roxas, ex-editor’s mother; 100

MANILA, Philippines—Marguerite Spurlin Roxas, mother of former newspaper editor Zip Roxas, died Saturday afternoon. She was 100.

Aside from Zip, other surviving children include Meg Manahan, Alice Ruiz and Jose Roxas Jr.

She was the widow of Jose M. Roxas Sr. Two other sons, Pepito and William, had preceded her in death.

In compliance with her wishes, her remains were cremated and there will be no wake. Her ashes will be interred at the Sta. Ana Church in Manila.

She is also survived by her children-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
