Lilibeth Baja of the Traffic Parking and Management Office identified the victims as Alvin Pestaño, 30; Jennilyn Calicog, 32; Enrique Marawag, 39; Margarita Tanoy, 46, and Alexander Esperos, 19.
Based on an initial investigation, a Toyota four-door sedan with plate number UVB-581 was traveling on Eastbank Road in Santa Lucia at 6 a.m. when it hit a tricycle.
The tricycle, whose driver and plate number have yet to be determined, ended up hitting Pestaño and Marawag who were biking nearby, traffic investigator SPO2 Carlito Guillarte said.
The tricycle continued on its way and struck Calicog, Tanoy and Esperos who were waiting for a ride by the side of the road.
Although the driver of the Toyota did not stop, traffic enforcers managed to jot down its plate number , Guillarte said.
