Eleven people were injured after two jeepneys collided at an intersection on Friday.

The drivers of both vehicles will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries over the accident at the corner of Tandang Sora and Commonwealth Avenues in Quezon City.

Traffic investigator SPO1 Edgardo Talacay identified the drivers as Mamerto Unge, 28, and Peter Salazar, 43. Unge and 10 passengers—eight from his jeep and two from Salazar’s—were injured and treated at East Avenue Medical Center.

The collision happened at 5 p.m. while Unge was on Tandang Sora Avenue and Salazar on Commonwealth Avenue, dubbed the “killer highway” due to the numerous accidents on the major thoroughfare.

Talacay said that when the traffic light turned green, Unge crossed the intersection, hitting Salazar’s jeepney which flipped onto its side.
