The police are trying to determine the identity of the man they believe to be the killer of a Department of Energy employee at a beerhouse in Mandaluyong City last  week.

Case investigator SPO2 Disilito Custodio said a review of the footage taken by a closed circuit television camera at the Makul beerhouse showed a man “hurriedly leaving” the establishment around five minutes before the body of Rolando Guanio, 40, was found.

Guanio, an administrative aide, was discovered with three stab wounds in the back, one in the chest and two in the left shoulder on the stairs leading to the bathroom at 3:30 a.m. the other Saturday.

According to the investigator, the footage they saw showed the man running from  the crime scene toward an exit.

The blurred footage, however, was not able to show whether the man, who was wearing jeans, was carrying a weapon.

The investigator said he was hoping that witnesses would come forward to identify the person, adding it was impossible that no one in the beerhouse saw or knew him. Kristine Felisse Mangunay
