MANILA, Philippines—Tropical depression Fabian made its way out of the Philippine area of responsibility Friday morning but monsoon rains will continue in parts of the country, the state weather bureau said.
Fabian was last observed 340 kilometers west of Laoag, Ilocos Norte, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour a speed of 11 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
“The provinces of Bataan, Zambales and the regions of Ilocos and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) will experience monsoon rains,” Pagasa said in its bulletin.
However, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will only have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Luzon and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere winds will be light to moderate coming from the southeast to south with slight to moderate seas,” Pagasa said.
