A 53-year-old radio blocktime commentator was shot and wounded by motorcycle-riding assailants in the parking lot of SM at the North Reclamation Area, Cebu City.
Police identified the victim as Apolinario “Jun” Arigo, Jr., resident of barangay Lawaan II, Talisay City.
Arigo was wounded in the buttocks and treated at a Cebu City hospital.
During the May 13 election campaign, Arigo was a blocktime commentator in radio dyRF and dyDD.
Personal grudges could be the motive in the attack, said PO1 Venerando Bacalso of the Mabolo police station.
Investigators have yet to find out if the violence was work related.
Arigo was about to board his car about 4 p.m. when two men on a Honda XRM motorcycle arrived.
The backrider pulled out a gun and shot Arigo before they drove off.
Police said the assailants were seen in the area just before the attack. A vendor told police that the motorbike driver bought a bottle of soda from him before the incident. /Correspondents Joy Cherry S. Quito and Chito O. Aragon
