Teen girl almost raped in taxi

A 17-year-old girl reported to the police that a taxi driver tried to rape her when she fainted inside his taxi in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, last Thursday afternoon.

The girl managed to escape but failed to take note of the taxi’s plate number.

The teenager  said she boarded the taxi in barangay Panagdait, Cebu City, around 2 p.m. and asked to be brought to General Maxilom Avenue.

The driver told her that to avoid traffic, it was best to pass through the Mandaue Reclamation Area.

Along the way, said the girl, the taxi  driver opened a tin can and shook its contents.

The girl said she smelled a foul odor before falling unconscious.

When she woke up, the taxi was already parked somewhere in the Mandaue Reclamation Area.

She said she saw the driver about to take off her shorts.

The  driver pointed a knife at her and warned her not to shout.

The girl said she struggled and got out of the vehicle and ran to the police station.

Police said they are trying to identify the taxi driver.
