POLICE are looking for a woman suspected of stealing almost half a million pesos in cash and valuables from the house of the cousin of Mandaue City Vice Mayor Glen Bercede.
Police said Sheilla de Guzman Basina, 31, was hired as a maid five days ago through a manpower agency.
The new employer, Norman Bercede Perez, 43, said the theft occurred while the woman was left alone in the house in barangay Banilad.
Perez and his family would usually sleep at his parents’ house next door.
