POLICE HUNT MAID

POLICE are looking for a woman suspected of stealing almost half a million pesos in cash and valuables from the house of the cousin of Mandaue City Vice Mayor Glen Bercede.

Police said Sheilla de Guzman Basina, 31, was hired as a maid five days ago through a manpower agency.

The new employer, Norman Bercede Perez, 43, said the theft occurred while the woman was left alone in the house in barangay Banilad.

Perez and his family would usually sleep at his parents’ house next door.

Several items were missing in the master’s bedroom. There were no signs of forced entry.

3 SIBLINGS FALL IN DRUG BUSTS

THREE brothers and a woman were arrested in separate drug buy-bust operations in Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu cities yesterday.

Packs of suspected shabu were recovered during the arrests of Rodrigo “Diego” Baring Oyao, 43; Reynaldo “Adok” Baring Oyao, 35; Basilio “Pitsong” Baring Oyao, 45; and his live-in-partner Franchille Marababol, 31.

All of them are residents of barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

First to fall were Reynaldo and Rodrigo who were arrested after they allegedly sold 11 packs of shabu in barangay Looc, Mandaue.

Operatives of the Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu police then made a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of Basilio and Marababol.

Police said a police asset bought a medium pack of suspected shabu worth P8,000 from Basilio.
