SECURITY GUARD SHOOTS SELF

A SECURITY guard allegedly tried to commit suicide while drinking with friends in barangay Ubogon, Asturias town, Cebu.

The man, a security guard detailed in a mall in Balamban town, allegedly shot himself in the chest.

Police said love problems drove the man to shoot himself.

Police said the man on Monday morning went to the house of a relative bringing coconut wine.

The man had a drinking session with two relatives.

During the drinking session, the security guard showed to his relatives text messages from his girlfriend where the woman was telling the victim that she was breaking up with him.

The victim was left alone in the terrace while his relatives went to the kitchen.

The victim’s relatives then heard a gunshot. They rushed to the terrace and saw the security guard slumped on the floor.

The victim was brought to the Balamban District Hospital. He was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Police recovered a home-made .38 revolver believed to have been used in the shooting.

KILLED IN HIS SLEEP

A MAN was shot dead while he was sleeping inside a passenger Multicab parked by the roadside in barangay Langtad, Argao, southern Cebu.

Police said some residents heard Noel Neri Calledo crying inside the multicab before gunshots broke out around 2 a.m. last Monday.

Calledo was later found with a gunshot wound in the back and bruises in the head.

DEAD MAN IN LAPU

A 30-YEAR-OLD painter was found dead by his live-in partner inside a bunkhouse in barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City on Monday evening.

Police identified the fatality as Raymund Dorimon, a native of Bais City.

Police said there were no signs of foul play in the death.

The man’s live-in partner, Fortunata Lopez, told police that she went to the bunkhouse to wake her partner up for dinner.

The woman sought help from other workers when the man did not respond.

Dorimon was brought to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital where he was declared dead.
