Marauders log second straight victory

The 1&1  Marauders cruised to their second straight victory with a 61-49 thumping of the Kyocera Frontiers last Saturday in the newly opened 9th E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

Coming off an easy 68-42 win over the Executive Boutique Lycans, the Marauders leaned on the inspired game of Jan Isiah Gabest and Arnel Azarcon, who fired 15 and 12 points, respectively, to help their team stay unbeatenm in the young season.

Picking up from where they left off in their last outing, the Marauders started strong and took an 18-15 lead after the first period .

1&1 stretched the lead to to 28-19 at the bend but the Frontiers had a mini run in the third, where it outscored the Marauders, 21-14, to move within two points, 40-42, entering the final period.

The Marauders went back to work and finished off the Frontiers with a crippling 20-9 attack to ice the 12-point victory.

Eliot Emerson Uy topped the Frontiers with 12 points, Randolf Alegre and Ariel Ramonito Edera had 11 each, while Winston Stephen Panal contributed 10.
